What are the waste materials/plastics that  you use?

Deborah collects HDPE plastic (no 2 inside the universal triangular recycling symbol), in the form of single use plastic bottle tops and bottles on her daily dog walks along the local river. This is thoroughly sterilised at her studio before being processed with heat and compression and recycled by hand.

Is the plastic safe and comfortable to wear?

Yes. The plastic has been thoroughly sterilised. Because it is HDPE it is perfectly safe to recycle by hand and treat with heat in the home environment in order to create the jewellery items. It is non- toxic and completely safe to wear. It can be worn next to the skin. It is light weight and comfortable to wear.
